John Stewardson

John was born in Maryland and lived there during his early-childhood years; in later years, john has lived on both the east coast and west coast.  He met his wife in Maryland and have since lived in Virginia for over twenty years; they have three children who are now adults live locally in Virginia.

In 1980, John’s mother invited him to her small, country church called, Gold Mine Baptist Church.  It was there that he accepted Christ and began his walk with Him.

John has served The Lord through music ministries and through local and international short-term mission trips. John also graduated from a 3- year School of Ministry  in theology and church-leadership. It was on his first of 3 mission trips to Zambia, (with a ministry called Every Orphan’s Hope), that God moved his heart towards the orphans, widows, and vulnerable children of Zambia.

Even though he was unable to move forward in a direction to serve God at that time, God continued to stoke-the-fire in the heart of Stewardson; this continued to happen even when  he decided to transition from his 22 year career, as a sheet metal worker to construction sales.  During this time of what he thought was inaction, God was teaching him about patience, obedience, and waiting on His timing.  Recently, God made it clear to that the time to move was now.

John and his wife are now stepping out in faith, to fulfill the calling that they believe God has placed on their hearts.  It is through Compass 360 Mission, that we are beginning their relationship and journey of faith with the Zambian people and beyond!
